Character profile- consent form

Here is some evidence of the models giving consent to being in the trailer. this allows us to have some form of flexibility, to add specific factors within our horror trailer such as, strong language, violence and a sense of slasher,

Planning- Production name

once discussing our subgenre and what we want to include within the narrative for our trailer we then as a collective decide to focus on the production name for our production company. This is a vital and significant factor contributing towards the build for the trailer, therefore the decision made have to be effective enough for our target audience to be feel somewhat scared. through the process of selection we where able to narrow our ideas down to what we believe will be the most effective for our Trailer and Target audience.
overall coming to the conclusion that our production name will be, House of Shadows Productions

Planning- Subgenre and Narrative Brainstroming

This is video displaying the avenue and planning process to which myself and my group memebers are thinking of going down into. This brain storm basically higlights our initial ideas for a narrative and how we will use our Research on narratives and research gathered based on out finding from our target audience to influence, creative ideas in order to produce a realist, effective and professional trailer

Contemporary Horror Advertising Campaign

The reaction video to the Poltergeist trailer, demonstrating the effect of a good and effective advertising campaign

In case you are unable to see the text from the video, It will be placed below.

With the vast development of technology as a result to web 2.0, the process of adverting within the film industry has become much more effective creating a faster gain of a target audience as well as creating a buzz for the film. In particular, in regards to Horror, the target audience usually surrounds the age of 15-21 (also known as teenagers too young adults) this specific age group are a key audience and consumer to social media being Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram etc. Other than social media Horror films are also advertised on a larger spectrum appearing on television, radio stations and through adverts on websites like YouTube.

The marketing team for the film Poltergeist used different media forms to reach its audience, in the lead up stages of the film. By using sites such as online streaming to advertise the film, despite it being an illegal website and being a factor of file sharing, they were able to use this to their advantage ,as their target audience range are predominate users of such websites, by assuring there target market knew exactly when the date of release.

There are 300 Million active Instagram users in 2015, with this being said, in order to attract attention from a specific age range which predominately rely on social media to gain information, the use of having an Instagram page as well as a sponsored advertisement on Instagram is an effective marketing advertising strategy to which the Marketing team of the film Poltergeist followed. Their Instagram page has a following of 16.4 Thousand demonstrating the depth of importance of having this as a way to keep their target audience engaged and up to date with any recent information.

Twitter is also a very good example as to how Poltergeist where able to use social media to create a word of mouth effect on the web. As a result to the release of the Trailer and The Official twitter page for Poltergeist , people began to gain interest and the creation of Hashtag: Poltergeist became a popular tag to which roamed the cyber world of twitter, enabling others to become intrigued with the Film.

Research- Horror posters

For my horror poster research I chose to ask three individuals from my chosen target age range to analyse a variety of three different horror poster. My research was conducted through the social messaging app, WhatsApp, as a unique way to create a virtual focus group .My reasoning's for doing this research is to conduct a thorough analysis on what my audience expects from a horror film poster, with this understanding I will be able to add my knowledge of these expectations to my group and we then can create a product which is both effective and unique. On the right are the horror films, that I will be showing my target audience.
So what questions would be asked:
-What attracts you first and why
-What do you think is the scariest element of that poster/attraction
-What poster attracts you least and why?
